All the offences in the Criminal Procedure Code is to be triable by High Court, Court of Session, or Magistrate courts. . (Section 26 CrPC)
Where the offence is covered under section 376 , it shall be tried by a woman judge as far as possible. (Section 26 CrPC)
A juvenile shall be tried by Chief Judicial Magistrate or in Juvenile Court. ( Section 27 CrPC)
Coming now to the punishments,
High Courts can award any kind of punishment. Sessions court may grant allow death sentence with the confirmation of High Court. (Section 28 CrPC)

First Class Magistrate - 3 years; 10,000/-.
Second Class Magistrate - 1 year; 5000/-
Second Class Magistrate - 1 year; 5000/-
Cheif Judicial Magistrate - Upto seven years (section 29 CrPC)
Default of Payment of Fine - How to Imprison the Offendor???????
1) The Court cannot exceed its sentencing power (section 30(b), CrPC)
2) The Court can award No More than 1/4th of the total imprisonment allowed for the offence. ( section 65 IPC, section 30(b), CrPC.)
3) when imprisonment is for offences punishable with fine only, court can award simple imprisonment of
2 months - till 50 rupees
4 months - till 100 rupees
6 months - above100 rupees (section 67, IPC)
2 months - till 50 rupees
4 months - till 100 rupees
6 months - above100 rupees (section 67, IPC)
Imprisonment shall terminate on payment of fine (section 68 IPC) or when part of the fine is paid and a proportional part of imprisonment has been rendered by the offendor (section 69 IPC) .
